PF#4 to the left.

How about placing Paul Franklin's pedal # 4 to the left side of pedal #1 (or pedal A).
I would call it "pedal 0"(zero).Wouldn't it be easier to release A &B pedals then push pedal 0 instead of jumping over pedal C to push pedal 4.
Also all floor pedals would remain at the same place.

That's not too unusual, John.

What's unusual is me having that change on the Vertical Lever. I know of noone else doing that.

A number of players do this. I think though, most do it on Pedal 4 as PF does. There are advantages either way.

Some players are finding combination changes with other knee levers used with this change.

Do people use it in combination with pedal 3 much? If so, what happens on the 5th string?

I've always assumed that it was used by itself or with knee levers. If that's the case, it wouldn't make any difference where you put it.

I know of no combinations with other pedals. I should have said with knee levers. Thanks for catching that.

I would think you could put the "PF" change on a 2nd LKL.

That's exactly where I've got it now, Kenny, and I'm seriously thinking about putting it on my first floor pedal, moving G# to G back to a lever. I tend to use the Franklin change more rapid-fire than I can pull off with a lever.

Just my personal preference.

Jeff,
I don't have it on the push-pull -- only on the Fessenden. Actually on the Fessy I have the top octave (5 and 6) on one lever and the lower octave (9 and 10 on the universal) on another. I believe Joe Wright has all four pulls on one lever on his Sierra.

It's one of the first changes that would go if I had to eliminate one. It makes tuning the split on the 5th string more difficult since B to A becomes the maximum lower. I lower G# to F# on the Beast, but don't lower B to A. I like to keep it at 6 and 6 so I have to compromise a bit.
