Michele, I most definitely did not take advantage of my training to the extent you did. Life happened, but that's another story. And 1987 was a long time ago!
Do you still work at Hoffman's? I remember, probably at least 20 years ago, leaving a nice mahogany tenor uke body I was once building there because (like a total idiot) I sucked a back brace loose with the shop-vac. I had hoped someone there had a way to glue it back up. Someone called after a couple of weeks saying they couldn't figure out a way to do it. Never did go back to pick it up. Figure by now someone probably turned it into a clock, or put a potted plant inside it, or are using it for a pencil holder or something.
Great memories of my year at Red Wing. The mahogany style-O copy I built is still my main guitar. Weather checked, cracks everywhere, all beat up, but it still sounds and plays good enough for me.
Good luck with your lap steels. They are lovely indeed! |

Yes, still working at Hoffman's (using Hoffman's computer right now in fact).
I'm going to look around the shop for your uke. We save EVERYTHING. I'll let you know if I find it. |
