Howdy. I am dismantling a pair of old Fender PA speakers. Inside I found some non standard parts to be sure. The horns/drivers are massive. This is a huge compression driver with a flange adaptor but no horn. The assembly weighs 41 lb just by itself. I thought it might be JBL but most of those have the terminals side by side. Altecs usually has the name cast right into the housing so I'm stumped. I wouldn't be surprised if the were originally for really large arena if stadium use with gigantic horns. Any thoughts as to what these monsters are and if there is a market fir them. (16 ohm)

Could be JBL, with Fender's ties to that Co., or Altec. If it doesn't work, a great doorstop it would make.

These obviously escaped from the Bose laboratory. Early prototypes no doubt. Just be sure to point them backwards in the cabinet when you install them. Too bad you only have a pair of them though. You'll need at least 16 of them for a full stereo image, along with a special EQ and lots of watts to drive them.

I'm gonna mount them on the rear bumper of my truck and use them like those JATO engines on a C-130 cargo plane.

The push-down wire terminals look like JBL to me.

I found pics of Gauss drivers that look similar but smaller. Same terminals and indents on housing.
