Today was the funeral for one of my best friends and my first musical mentor; my dad. I began playing bass with him in 1970 and played rhythm guitar behind him in fiddle contests as a kid. When I began learning steel guitar, he sat and patiently played rhythm guitar behind me for endless hours. We played together regularly until just a few years ago as his health declined and he stopped playing.

Bill, My wife and I have been attending the annual Fiddlin contest in Hiawassee for many years and remember when your Dad MC'd the program and occasionally played with the Band. He was a jewel, and you are fortunate to have had Him as long as you did, and you certainly are a "chip off the same block". You are in our thoughta.
