Thanks Chuck Blake. Without you doing it first I would have never got started. Here is step 1. The Speaker Cabinet goes this weekend. I built and covered my own box. It is a learning process. Anyway Thanks Chuck

Neat idea, and may avoid a hernia!

Nice!
I have a Reno as well. Nice amp.
I like the look of yours!

Here is one that I got off Craigslist from a guy who did a nice job of modding the cab of a Stereo Chorus 400.
If you pop off the front grill you can see just the top inch or so of the 2-12" speaker cutouts.

In answer to some questions I haven't weigh it but is nice and light. I used 3/4 x 10" pine economy board for the box, a little glue and wood screws. The carpet is a 'Area Rug Un-Backed' that I found at Home Depot about $15 for a 6x8. It is a little thick which makes it harder to stretch and hide the seams but it works for me. All total I will have about $50 in the whole project. I will post pics of the speaker cab when I get it down.

Greg...why not get a "NEO" magnet for your black widow like I did on my "Split" Nashville 400. I'm sure they are still available. 3 shorter bolts supplied, and the change over took about 5 minutes. No change in tone as it's the "Basket" that determines that as you know!! ... Keep your back happy Very Happy

I have been thinking about splitting a Session 500 for a long time. Has anyone tried this?

Great work Greg. In addition to one 4ohm speaker cab.
I've been using two 8ohm speaker cabs with a parallel
input jack on one of the cabs and loving it. Not true
stereo but the next best thing I guess. Great job. JM

Since I split my NV400 James and Greg. I find that I want that NV400 sound every time I play.

I still like my Roland Cube 80 xl's but that Peavey sounds draws me back.

My wife commented that she liked the NV400 sound but what does she know.....she's just the the bass player and my Roadie Mr. Green

Chuck,
You know it may be my imagination, but I swear my peavey sounds better? It probably is my bad ears. But every time I try a different amp, I come back to my old 400.

Also, A happy wife is a happy life. A happy bass player and roadie... Priceless.
