Hey Bobbe; do you remember the Single-10 Emmons P/P you sold Redd Volkeart a couple of years ago? Well he's been wanting me to play it and I cleaned and tweeked her all up and been enjoying pickin' on it with Redd in the band and he's gettin a kick outta it. Anyway.....do you happen to know the year of that baby? (1643 S) is the stamp on it.
This apply's to the others also that may know years of these Emmons.(yeah I know call Emmons co. or e-mail;....but I'm not at a regular e-mail and or phone.....ah..ha)
Thanks ya'll.

Hey Ricky,
As others have said in the past, you
gotta look at the physical stuff on it.
First place to look is the type of pedals
& their spacing.

WEll this one is far from Original Jay. The Pedals are something someone put on there from a ZB or a Marlen. The Pedal board looks like it's from a D-10 cause it has the axle all the way through it.
The tuning keys are Grovers(and they work damn good; better than the Klusons) but the key head is original...but the holes bored out to take the Grovers.
Pickup is a Bill Lawrence 705(damn good also).... Fret board is Emmons but white lines as opposed to silver. Black flock underneath. So you can see; there is not much oringinality to go on......so anyway....Seymour should know the date.....Hell he sold it to Redd......ah....ha.....But yes I've seen the serial number chart for the D-10's(which to me in inconclusive)....but no big deal....I just thought I would find out for Redd as he was inquiring...

I guess the question one should ask is, how's Redd getting along with it? Knowing his musicality he's probably nailing it. Say hi to him for me.

What makes me sick is he plays steel licks on his guitar better than I ever will on my Sho-Bud. Not fair!! Speaking of Redd, anybody know anything about a rumored Twangbangers album? Even though he makes me ill, I do enjoy listening to him play.

Chris;

according to the Hightone Records website, the TwangBangers CD "26 Days on the Road" had a February 19 release, and features these tracks:

Truck Drivin' Man
I Got a Rocket In My Pocket
The Stuff Inside
Wacky Walk
She Loves Anything That Swings
How Mountain Girls Can Love
Rockabilly Funeral
In Memory of a Memory
Rock Bottom
Telewacker
I Gotta Get Drunk
Hot Rod Lincoln

I heard their version of "Hot Rod Lincoln" on a local radio show a few weeks back and it's a humorous but obviously well-played take on a bunch of the classic licks/styles of the genre - even Joe Goldmark gets his "licks" in

Hey John Redd don't play it much....but yes he can get around on it fine. He's been digin' me playing it and when he gets more time...he'll play it more.
So anyone have an idea on the date???

Question: why would the S model #'s NOT be the same year as the D model #'s? Were the S models just given an arbitrary number?
