That's just Peavey. They all did it. Just set it and forget it. That's what I always did.

No, they didn't "all do it.". I currently own 4 of 'em, have owned a few more than that, and I have to say that I never experienced that problem with any of them

On the other hand, all of them have had the problem with the bad fitting Molex connector on the underside of the chassis. More of a nuisance than anything. And a couple have had the 2nd-most-common-NV400-problem of dirty line-in and -out jacks.

I'm playing a little honky-tonk tonight with a postage-stamp sized stage. My amp? A NV400, of course. Best grab-n-go amp there is for steel guitar.

If you remove the amp from the cabinet, and spray in the back of the pot using a good cleaner-lube, the problem will usually go away. Spraying in the front bushing (by removing the knob) simply doesn't put enough of the cleaner where it's needed. Cool

Hi Donny. actually donny that's what i done. as you know the little vents in the pots are right down against the board. cant get at em . so i had to drill a one eight hole in the very top of the shell. sprayed it with an oxide cleaner. and its like new again. no dought will have to change it at some point in time.but for now it works. used it last night on a gig it was great. Smile

I've repaired many pots in my day but gave up on the Peavey pots as I was never successful with any of them (probably bad technique)- and they're so cheap it didn't make sense to bother to take 'em apart and not replace them.

My NV400 is a '84 and I have never had a pot problem, or any other for that matter. Just set it and forget it.
