I know this is not a new topic but finding any formal instruction (book/dvd/video series) on either E7 or E13 seems very difficult to find.
Is there a gold nugget somewhere I've just missed?
Thanks! |

Jim,
How is your E-13 tuned? Some are the same sound as C13 or C-6 If that's the case then you could play any song TAB for C-6. You would just be in a different key. |

JIM,
The Hawaiian steel players that use the triple neck steel guitars tune there middle neck
close to your tuning. From low to high.EG#BDF#G#C#E This tuning is called C#mi7or9
There are songs played in this tuning .You might come across some old OAHU sheet music somewhere.I guess we would have to say your tuning is used along with C-6 or another tuning and you would have too jump necks to get those nice 13th chords that are in your tuning.
Hope I helped a little,Keep on pick'n

There is the Roger Fileberto E7th book available from Mel Bay.
The old Oahu PN course was E Maj and the PT course was E7th.
A couple other books I could tell you if I weren't on the road and could look around the music area.
I managed to collect a fair amount of Oahu music folios in E7th, mainly on eBay. |

Hi Jim
Your E13 tuning is/was played by a number of big name players, Cindy Cashdollar, John Ely, Herb Remmington, Leon McAuliffe and Lee Jefferies.
Wish there was some instruction material, but I don't know of any.
I have that tuning on my Stringmaster, but am at the very early stage of figuring it out...Jerry |
