When typing in the player list above I made a huge BOO BOO! I failed to list my friend in Michigan, Danny Hullihen the Jagwire String man. Danny will also be performing and will have a great display of Jagwire strings on hand so you can stock up while you're at the show. My apologies Danny for the oversight.

WOW! Going to be a great show. Jim's show 2 years ago was a blowout, this looks like an even better show this year. Looking forward to working with old friends like my buddy Jim Hartley on drums and meeting some new ones. So far the backup band sounds like it going to be fun except that silly left handed bass player. Rumor has it that a couple of the featured artists are performing a gospel concert at a large church in the area Sunday night April 22, more details on that to come.

Hey Rick - You need to start steeling one of Jim's people for your show and I have just the person in mind .

Hey Guys,

Sounds like we are in for a big ole time in Pa. "05 was my first time at the show and we were surprised with about 6" of snow. Jim, don't forget your promise. As for the bass player, the left handed part is OK, but the upside down part is hard to figger out. Seriously, as well as Alan plays, I don't care if he plays it behind his back. I'm really looking forward to this show, see ya there.

Hey, with Alan C.on bass and Jim H.on drums, and if we can talk Rick T. into playing guitar, we'll have a rhythm section to die for...now, if Jim T. can find some steelers we'll be in business.
See ya'll there,
rh

Jim Thompson's Tri-State PA show is without a doubt one of the finest steel shows ever held. Always the best of the best in both steel players and back up musicians, and the hospitality is second to none at this show!
I'm truly looking forward to seeing all of my many great friends there again. This is indeed, a first class show all the way!

Well the staff band is all rounded up and ready. This year we will have Jim Hartley on drums, Alan Coldiron on bass(left handed& upsidedown), Roger Hoard on lead guitar, Linda Torre on keyboard, also on drums will be Ron Cramer, bass Jennifer Jean, & lead Lonnie Coots. Like Russ said, a backup band to die for.

Gonna be fun. I'm so excited I'm thinking about sending my bass back to G & L to get that factory tuning put back on. You might want to plan for an extra night in town. Rumor has it that 2 of the special guests are doing a Gospel concert at a large local church in the area Sunday night. More details later.

I just wanted to add some comments about Jim's great show and also the seminar I will be doing. First, I played at Jim's show 2 years ago and it was one of the finest steel guitar shows I have ever played. Jim does everything first class all the way, so I'm sure you will want to make this one. The lineup is great, the backup band is great and there are some excellent restaurants.

Now back to the seminar. I will be doing a seminar from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday. There will be a lunch break at noon. We will be covering a lot of material during the seminar and I will be handing out quite a bit of tablature. We will cover things like: chord positions, scales, chord progressions, runs & licks, some songs and technique. The seminar will be around 80% E9th tuning and 20% C6th tuning. Regardless of whatever level your playing is, we should touch on some things that should benefit every player. It is not necessary to bring your guitar, but it may be beneficial to have it there as you can try out various things and ask questions if you have them, such as how to play a particular lick and so on. Also, if you have amplified headphones and a music stand, I suggest bringing them also. I also suggest taping everything for future reference when you get home. The cost for the seminar is only $60.00 which is very reasonable for this amount of time. We are doing it at this lower price since it is in conjunction with Jim's show. I normally charge $50.00 per hour for private lessons. If you would like to reserve a place at the seminar, I ask for $30.00 deposit and the balance at the door. The deposits should be in to me by April 1st. You can pay by check, money order, visa, mastercard or discover. My mailing address is: Herby Wallace, Box 5784, Sevierville, TN 37864.

I hope to see you there.

Herby Wallace
