I'm a pedal steel/dobro/open-G slide guitar player who wants to add some banjo to a few tunes...I know enough open-G to play what I need, but I know little about banjos...I won't be playing fast bluegrass stuff, mostly just slow-to-medium picking for background mood on some tunes that need more texture...

So I need something that sounds like a banjo, but not fancy....

Any help, or offers for sale, would be appreciated....thanks!

Ended up buying locally, a Fender FB-54...passed up a really nice Contessa (German, 50 years old), but the Fender actually had the darker sound I am looking for (all mahogany)

Did a neck angle adjustment, intonation, etc...seems fine now.
