Anyone put together any interesting "housing" for your Sarno V8 unit?
Wondering about finding something to house it in, like a head cabinet that I can sit on it's back next to my seat like a rack unit that doubles for protecting it during transport. Nothing crazy, just effective.
Obviously it's fine as is, I can sit it on top of my cabinet, but wondering if anyone has done anything creative or found a good "carrying case" of sorts.
It's a killer sounding amp, if you get the chance I highly recommend checking one out. Great amp Brad!
Thanks for the input. |

Hi Scott
I was able to buy a small case with foam lining when they were on special offer at an electrical store near home. The case is very similar to one which a Dee Jay would carry stuff.
Good Luck.
I agree that the V8 is superb.

Hey, this is the Steel Guitar Forum. Don't you mean, "Jay Dee"?

That's a good idea, Billy. I bet it would fit in one of those little foam padded mic cases.
Jay Dee, is that how you do it? ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

You could always make up a couple of hooks and hang it off the side of your pac-a-seat :-} _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Paddy, good idea. A friend was thinking the same thing. I have one of those black box hangers the forum member here made for putting on your steel legs. Something similar for a seat would be great. |

I got a pre-drilled rack shelf from Brad and am currently using that.
However, I am thinking of widening the gap in Joe Clymer's wooden design so that the V8 will fit in it. I used Joe's stand for my Tonic for quite some time. (You can see pics of it in the other post's link)
It's really nice, convenient and, best of all, it breaks down in under 5 seconds. Everything then goes into a leather carry-pouch with separations inside. One section for the preamp, one for the stand, a side pocket for the Wet Reverb pedal, and another side pocket for the power cord and pedal transformer.
That means only 2 trips from the car to inside, or vice-versa. First trip is with my seat and steel. Second trip is with my pouch over my shoulder, a Furlong CB12 in one hand and a small cord/everything-else case in the other. Done. |
