DSSGA will never be the same after our last show Dec. 2nd here in Gulfport, Ms.!!
Dottie was a MAJOR SURPRISE. A great talent here folks. Her voice is as good as it gets. Couple that with the talents of Lynn and Hank, Bob Saxton on guitar, Ed Clark on upright bass and Wayne Goff-drums- the music played all over Texas, Nashville and anywhere else could not have been better. Only needed a "...fiddle in the band" to complete the perfect mix Jeff Blackwell gave all of us.
Thanks so much Dottie Jack for enlightening our world. Please do not be a stranger to our band stand. Best of all to you and lots of success with your music. Her cd has the best players in Texas and goes from the good country to the best western swing. (The steel players on her cd were:Ralph Mooney, Lynn Owsley & Randy Reinhart. Johnny Bush makes a token appearance also. Bobby Flores is here too.) This is a MUST CD to have folks.
Dottie's pesence was a delight among all those hairy legged pickers!!

Dottie- Glad to hear how you wowed 'em at Bill's show.
My computer screwed up on me (thanks to Microsoft) so I now have a new E-Mail address (deandobbins@msn.com), and naturally, I lost all the ones I had- so, could you E-Mail yours to me and Lynn's I could get them back in my Address Book.
Hope to see you guys in Dallas.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your kind words. I had a great time in Gulfport at this show. Everyone made me feel so welcome. I enjoy getting to visit with friends and always come away with a few new ones from these events. A big thanks to Hank and Lynn for sharing their time with me. Lana, it was so good to get to visit with you again. As soon as I catch up I am going to email you!
The web site is still under construction but I think the paypal link is working and the cd can be bought from there. For those of you who prefer not to use paypal, you can order from jackmusic@sbcglobal.net (I think the music previews are working, too)

Did you say Hank Corwin? I was wandering what happened to Hank. I haven't heard from him in a long time. He and I worked together with Jim Ed Brown and Porter Wagoner. I knew he left Nashville but I didn't know where he ended up. Say Hi to him for me I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Bill Staford, My Friend Don Cerce, has been trying to get in touch With Hank Corwin for over thirty years They grew up in yonkers New York together. Can You Help me out? Every once and a while i catch Hank on some of my Grand Ole Opry Tapes playing his blue Single Neck Steel behind Porter Wagoner.I guess Fred Newell took his place now. |

Saw Hank with Little Jimmy Dickens in 1967 in a marine club in Okinawa. He was playing really great then and as i recall he had Leon Sutton playing that Epiphone Emporer along with him. Enjoyed that as much as any country show i've ever seen. TJH |

Thurlon, its funny that you mention that you were there. We worked a date with Mr. Dickens just this past Saturday and he was talkin about that trip that he took Hank out with him. That was one of those infamous all the way around the world trips that he did. They went from Japan to Indonesia to Guam to Vietnam, up into Europe and back to the States. The airline lost the gear a couple of times, the venues were inadequate at times, but he said they always had a great time workin for the troops, wherever they happenend to be. |
