I need to know what type cable to use to make a footswitch using a 6 pin male din connector. This is for a session 500 remote controller.
Thanks in advance for any info,
Billy

Billy, I don't know if the session requires the same as this old switch I ended up with,(has selector, combiner, reverb, and phase). This has a shielded 2 conductor wire for the reverb, and phase, which switch to the shield, (ground). There are 3 unshielded wires for the select, and combine switches.
Hope this helps. |

Bill Thanks for the response. I have looked on ebay and have seen the one you are describing and it is different from the original session 500 remote.
Thanks again for your input and response.

Just about any multi conductor cable with at least four wires will work. Stranded is better, phone wire won't last if you wind it up much; it's four SOLID wires
1 common wire, 1 each reverb, phase and fuzz.
I think both Home Depot and Radio Shack sell it.
Since it doesn't carry power, it doesn't have to be very thick; I think the original was something like 4X30ga. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Lane thanks for the response and information. I managed to find a male 6-pin connector with cable attached. Mike Brown sent me a wiring diagram so now all I have to do is mount switches and audio pot to a box and wire it in.
Input Much appreciated, this is a great forum for steelers.
