Sat, May 3, Joe Moulton had the 8th annual Lew Childre Steel Guitar Concert in Opp, AL. WOW, what a great show -- 7 hours of steel guitar. The great Billy Robinson, former Opry player, who played with Hank WIlliams, and Hall of Famer, was tremendous on the lap steel. What a wonderful man he is. Others were Jimmy Powell, Gordon Dodson, Lynn Owsley, and my two favorites -- Purley Curtis and Joe Wright. What a show and performance by Joe Wright. Good country music appears to be a thing of the past at the Grand Ole Opry, but Opp, AL had a show yesterday better than any Grand Ole Opry show that I ever attended. My thanks to Joe Moulton for making this happen.
