four top steel players in a town with a population of 241? It happened Saturday night in Mingus, Texas. Randy Reinhard was on steel, Jim Loessberg was on drums, Bobby Flores, an awesome steel man, was on fiddle and vocals. The fourth player? Oh yeah, sitting across the table from me....my bud Steve Matlock.
What a weekend to be in Texas....Roger Edgington played steel at Pearls and brought Billy Mata along with him for some great vocals....that was Friday night and you've already heard about Saturday night. We just had a ball and the music could not have been better. |

Seriously, what we heard on Friday and Saturday night had to be the best traditional country music going on anywhere on the planet! Awesome stuff. Both of these groups have some tremendous cd's. If you claim to be a traditional country music fan you need to get on their websites and buy them. My compliments to both Roger Edgington and Randy Reinhard for some very inspiring playing.
