Ron I do not know if it is batteryless, or mod installed or not. I have not had any of it done. It is the same as I got it, and I never asked the person I got it from. all I know is I had peavey install the Newman Setting because I did not get a card when I got it. It has worked well for me. I just don't have need for it anymore. And since I have lowered the price from $225.00 to $195.00 it does not include shipping
