Hi there, I just bought a beautiful Linkon Celebrity pedal steel and a Linkon method book from Wayne Link two months ago. He's a great guy to deal with and chat with, and so is his family.
I've been learning some instrumentals from the book and accompanying CD and have been learning chords in various positions from some youtube videos, but I feel like I would get a lot better if I had a teacher to guide me. I've played C6th lap steel for about a year and a half (and guitar for 7 years) so I have a bit of a (modest) head start, mostly with pitching notes and pick blocking.
Does anyone know if there's anyone willing to teach pedal steel in Calgary, Alberta? There's a lot of country music here but I haven't met anyone who plays pedal steel, let alone teaches. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!
Nice to meet you all, and thanks!

Hey Dylan,
Try contacting John Lacey. He's a forum member and a great player. I don't know if he's right in your area but if not he may be able to help you out. Good luck! |

I think John is in Turner Valley, which is not too long a haul. |
