I just finished reading Burt Bacharach's autobiography. He wrote some good ones, including a favorite, "Walk on By" as sung by Dionne Warwick. Here's my arrangement with lap steel and tenor sax.

Another really fine performance my friend.

The TONE on your guitar is so full and pretty altho' I personally find the top string to be a little too thin for the rest of the strings.

That's just MY EAR and in no way a criticism of you or your playing.

What equipment are you using?

Hi Ray,
Thanks for listening. I'm using my Ricky Fry pan and a King tenor sax. You have good ears! You're right about the high G being a bit thin. I'm always working on getting a full sound out of 6 strings. I might try a heavier gauge string for the first string. Hope to see you at a show down the road.

Chuck, this is just so tasty and classic. What a nice clean arrangement. A great example of steel guitar being used in straight ahead modern pop music. The way you play it, there is no sense of the steel guitar being forced into the song. You make it sound as if the song was written for the singing capability of the steel guitar. I have always loved the Bacharach-David recordings of Dionne Warwick. They defined the 1960's for me and their collaborations were simply the best. Her voice was the perfect messenger for their compositions. So, when is your album of the entire Bacharach-David songbook coming out?

Thanks for the kind comments, Karl. I have always approached the steel as a "singing" instrument, one of my favorite qualities about thus instrument.
