Had the pleasure of Paul coming and sitting in with my band last night in Pueblo Colorado. No set list to bone up on, no rehearsal, no nothing and he sounded like he had been playing with us forever. This guy is the real deal. By far the best steel player in the State of Colorado that I have heard. Great tone, pitch and chops.

This dude does not need more instructional material.

Yeah Man!! He's the REAL DEAL alright. I met Paul in the late 70's. He and a guitar player (Buck Buffalo) was playing in Chicago, and the first time I heard them, I was still outside, and I thought the Texas Troubadours was there! They were playing "Big Beaver" and WOW what a sound. I later took some lessons from Paul on C6th and never came close to his skill level, but enjoy the first song we worked on to this day: "MISTY" Great going Paul, keep it up. Sure don't understand why this guy is not with a band on a permanent basis. Thank you for the post!

I had a great time Saturday night with your band George. You folks still know the meaning of "Keeping it Country"! Got to play at an old club called that used to be called the Silver Saddle in Pueblo, CO. As a youngster I played there many years ago. Got to see Chalker with Hank Thompson there, ET with both Buddy's, Ray Price with Jimmy and Buddy. Wonderful memories of days gone by.

The "Silver Saddle," in Pueblo! Paul, I played there with Montana Skyline in '80 or '81.

Wasn't it totally run by women? A "Mrs. G", maybe? That was a long time ago, but the folks were very nice.

At the time I played there it was owned and operated by a great person named Dale Brown. He used to have his own band called Dale Brown and the Sundowners.

But he booked major national acts into that club as well.

I don't know who had it after Dale sold it. But he was a country music legend in Pueblo and he knew what talent to bring to that city!

First time I heard Paul play was in Ft Collins at a place up at Horsetooth Lake above the town with his younger brother Dee on guitar and vocal, this must have been 1965 or 66. Dee was a college student at CSU. That was one of my first experiences with honest to goodnes real country live music. I later bought Paul's first Sho-Bud steel from Dee and took lessons from Dee. I later had the honor to have Dee play steel for me in town at the Eldorado restaurant 3 or 4 nites a week while Dee was in school. Dee was playing the most beautiful fingertip Sho-Bud I had seen, with front apron of CoCo Bolo wood. Dee got me started off right and I will ever be indebted to the brothers Carestia. Thanks Paul.
