EGACEG Tuning. Thoughts/Suggestions/Songs?

I have been playing lap steel for several months. I dabbled in regular CEGACE for a while. I also play the squareneck in dobro G. I found that in EGACEG, the intervals on the top are the same as on the dobro. That has helped some. I also like the ability it gives me to slant from the 1 chord to the 4 on the top as well. I know the root is not on bottom, but I am trying more country than anything. It works ok for a few Hank Williams tunes too. Let me know what you guys think. Again, I am a newbie to the steel and need all the help I can get. Thanks.
