I think we just got scammed by a Randy Jackson. He sent us an email about a week ago saying he had 800 songs and steel guitar instructional CD's for $110.00. Well I fell for it. We did get the CD's but they don't play they are blocked. I emailed him back and he told us it must have been our players, but we tried several players and nothing. I have emailed him for a refund but no answer. So beware. Mad Mad ,

Can you dump them to a hard drive on your computer and get them to play?

Question What do u mean by blocked? Do u mean they have copyright protection that won't allow them to play? If so go and D/L a proggy called DVD Fab, (just google it) u can use it to remove any copy protection, advertisements, etc. and then burn them to a clean disk in a playable format. Winking

A few thoughts...

1. Randy Jackson - Jerry Cramer - Ron/Johann/Karen...Selling pirated copies of music, karaoke tracks, Steel guitar lessons, tabs, etc..... often their "last and only copy" many times over...often for dire financial need or for benefit of nursing homes - orphans, widows and other "charitable causes". One might start to wonder if they are indeed the same person. Wink

2. Those who have been around for a few years might remember that "Randy Jackson" claimed on the European Steel Guitar Forum http://chanos-isgf.org/ForumESG/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=317 that after careful investigation,... he ("Randy") and "John Sliwa" found that Ron was NOT member of and unknown to the Yuku "Steel Guitars Forum" http://steelguitars.yuku.com/ Laughing ... yet a short time later "Randy Jackson" claimed on another forum to have been a friend of Ron's for over 20 years Laughing

3. Ron (et al Winking ) prefers to use 1 on 1 contact via youtube, people giving up other peoples emails and harvesting of friends lists on facebook for his endeavors rather than proudly pushing his garbage on his own "thriving" forum. Is there a fear of liability for his YUKU forum? If he is proud of what he is doing, wouldn't you think that he would display his wares on his forum where people stop by from around the world to seeks his selfless assistance or boldly on his facebook page? Perhaps it's just gracious humility on his part. Perhaps those on his friends lists should consider the "enabling" factor they are giving.

4. Although b0b prefers not to make this ongoing menace a sticky warning on this forum (which of course is his choice), it might be wise of us to keep this issue near the top for the benefit of prospective victims. Of course the downside being that this also will appeal to those who want to buy someone else's pirated goods for a lower cost and also give ample opportunity for some people to say how much they enjoy his pirated goods and how well their illegal copies play on their machines. I'm sure the widow of Jeff Newman must be happy that some prefer a good bargain over a source for her sustainment.

5. I wish "Randy Jackson" would sell multiple copies of his cheerleaders' crappy tabs for 50 cents on the $1.

When I first joined the forum several years ago I was not very smart about a lot of things. Still not,
but learning. I put my e-mail address on the forum not knowing you should not do that. I was tracked down by the now notorious Ron Steenjwik and sent him $20.00 for which I still have not received any CD.
Just my story. So remembeer the old saying if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. J.R.
