Anyone using the wide pedals as was used on some of the older pedal steels, I'm considering trying them if still available, will the fit the newer pedal bars ect. Any comments appreciated.

| Ray...If you are refering to the early Sho-Bud style, the mounting system is entirely different so my guess would be not without some machining. The pedals on most modern steels are modular and mount individually onto the pedalboard. The Sho-Bud pedals were mounted utilizing a single axle system. |

I had a set of 4 wide pedals made for a single 10 Williams.... I was having a foot problem and the wider pedals were more comfortable. It worked OK, but I eventually went back to the stock narrow pedals when my foot recovered.
What kind of guitar are you going to put them on? There can be issues with matching up pedal spacing and alignment with the cross rods that they attach to. |

Don't know much about the GFI guitars, however it looks like you could get away with a marginally wider pedal. I really like the feel of the wider pedals on my Emmons and Sho~Bud guitars, and have wondered why no one makes similar pedal choices nowadays. Of course, the economics of the business plays a role.
This image shows the standard Williams pedal compared to the wider one. You could probably do something similar with the GFI.
