I am thinking about changing my current rack amp, Hafler P 3000, to something other than mosfet. Any suggestion? BTW, it powers a Stereo Steel gold-face preamp.

Gary I have been using a Telonics Stereo power amp for a while now and it is outstanding, and very light weight. It can also power a 24v volume pedal (like the Telonics VP) or a 24 volt Preamp - again like the Telonics PRE1000 .... but the power amp on it's own will power anything.... about 400 watts per side. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

I have been looking at the QSC-GX3 or the Peavey IPR-1600(DSP). The ART SLA looks interesting but have not heard much about them.

I picked up a Carvin HT400 on ebay. It's quiet and plenty of power (One 4ohm spkr bridged mono is 200w, two 4ohm spkrs stereo is 200w per speaker).
My other rack amp is a Peavey Stereo 50/50 tube amp (very versatile amp).
I preamp both with the Revelation. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

I also have a Peavey DPC750 which I have had for about 20 years -- this amp is built like a tank and just never gives up - 350 per side if I remember rightly ... only downside is it weights 15lbs and is quite deep so it wouldn't suit a shallow rack box
Ultra reliable though and just keeps on going _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9
