The Saturday seminar with Russ Hicks and the subsequent jam was "off the charts"!!!

For 2 hours Russ drilled some of his vast steel knowledge into our brains and challenged us all to be better players.

The jam was super. Thanks to all who let me play with them on their sets. Hope I didn't mess you up too bad!!

Tyler Hall blew us all away. Watching his speedy progress on steel has really lit my fire and challenged me to step up to the plate and get better. Tasteful and technically sharp is how I would describe his playing.

Bill "O Canada" Simmons was his usual self, running around like a little Fiest dog treeing a squirrel, encouraging all the players, making us smile and playing like a superstar.

Nice to finally meet Mr. Cawby as well as see old friends. Thanks to Ernie for posting the pictures in another thread. Who is that little guy playing lead behind you Ernie?

Sunday morning, Russ and Laney came and ministered in song at our church, Cornerstone Church of Mount Olive. Laney blessed us with her testimony and singing, and a HUGE representation of the Alabama gang was there to witness it all. Russ as usual was superb and our church family really enjoyed having them there. Chuck Campbell did a great job runnig the board and Bill Simmons backed them up on six-string.

Thanks to Bill Cook, Tim Bridges and all the folks that made this day work. These events don't just happen and there was tons of hard work behind the scenes. Thanks to you all.

Blessings,
BigB (or as Laney put it...Mr. Clean!!!)

Hey Bryan, do you all video your services or have a CD available? If so, I would like to have one, as probably lots of other forumites as well.

Bryan,

I hate that I missed the service Sunday morning. I'm sure it was great. I hate to admit it, but by the time I got back home and set up for my sons R & R party, I was whipped. Maybe I'll pace myself better next time (not likely).

Hi Bryan.
The show was great, sorry I couldn't be at the SUNDAY SERVICE. I have to work every Sunday like you. You were an addition to all you played with. If that wavy hair didn't get in your strings you would be great. You are a joy and a true friend and inspiration to us all.
Doc

Hey Bryan...thank you for hosting Russ and Laney this past Sunday. We'll be adding more church services and gospel events in '07. By the way, you are a terrific preacher!!
