String bass, drums and pedalsteel. No effects except for overdrive on the steel every once in a while.

I found it rather relaxing to listen to, at this time in the late evening. I didn't see much of the dancers, because I lay on the bed and was slowly drinking my beer. Thanks, Bob!

The choreographer was Michelle Thompson. I am working with ballet dancers that do not improvise. I wanted an improvised and open feel so I recorded music and had Michelle choreograph the dancers. Then I videoed the piece and redid the music by improvising along to the movement and making that the new music for the piece. I also let the guy shooting the video do what ever he wanted in terms of shooting and editing before we played along to it.
I made a DVD but it is rather crude. I never worked in Final Cut Pro before and it is a pretty powerful and confusing software. I am going to get some help or figure out how to make a proper DVD.
The concert went real well and sold out. Hopefully we can do it again sometime soon.

Jon, that would most likely be the drummer, Chris Coburn. He plays way different than any drummer I have ever worked with. Capturing his dynamics and textures while recording was a real challenge. Amazing musician.
