I've been a lurker on the steel forum for over a month now and I figured it was finally time to officially join. I'm a guitar player/bass player that has developed an interest in lap steel.
I used to have a Chandler RH2 that I noodled on until I sold it to get my dream guitar (Gretsch 6120) but recently I've found a great deal on another RH2 (with the case) and a stupendous deal on Craigslist on a 1968 Supro steel with legs, case & bar in excellent shape.
As for styles, I'd like to dabble in Western Swing & Hawaiian.
So, I'm making a plea: be patient with me. I love to learn and absorb as much as I can. I'm not asking to be the next Jerry Byrd or Junior Brown, just want to have some fun! |

Thanks Tim
It's actually from a joke with my co-workers. I'm ALWAYS online yet I don't actually have a cell phone. I joke that my pay phone (I have an orig rotary pay phone in my office) is my "mobile phone".
Hopefully this weekend I'll take some pics of my lap steels and post them! |

Jerry and Jr. are known to have had fun, and I think Jr. still is. You picked two great genres of music to explore on steel, Mark, my favorites. |
