Instruments may come and go.
One of the medieval instruments that is regaining popularity is the Hurdy Gurdy.
A lot of HG luthiers are still building these strange
cranked violins ans used for all kinds of music.
I saw one on a U tube clip in rock music.

The latest that I saw is a midi Hurdy Gurdy, which can be played through a synth.

Read and enjoy.
