BACK ON THE MARKET
I bought this Ken Fox amp from Lynn Oliver but need to sell it.It is mint as I have only used it for 10 weeks at home over the last two years (summer vactions). It comes with 8 extra American made tubes. Here is what Lynn wrote in his add.
"Most of you here are already familiar with this amp, so you likely have some idea of how I feel about needing to sell it. This is one of the original group that Ken built and is still in mint condition--it was out of the house only once, and that was to get measurements done by D2F. Has 4 speakers.
For those not familiar with it, the 5D6B came about when a very rare '54/'55 Fender Bassman amp came to Ken's shop for repair. The sound of this amp haunted Ken until he decided to build a copy. Many players are familiar with the '59 Bassman, which uses the 5F6 circuit. The earlier 5D6 circuit was largely unknown, although people who've heard it think it sounds better than the legendary '59 Bassman.
Those wanting more details can visit Ken's site, where he has some info on the 5D6C model.
I also have spare tubes that will go along with it:
NOS 5Y3GT (two)
NOS 12AY7 (three)
NOS 12AX7 (one)
Matched pair of JJ 6L6GC"
____
$1900 includes the extra tubes. Buyer pays shipping and insurance. I will sell it for $1800 if the buyer picks it up locally . I am inFargo, ND. Only available until July 24th as I head back to China August 1st. Thanks, Stevet

PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD, B0B. The Fox amp is no longer for sale; I decided to keep it. Thanks Roger Rettig for convincing me not to sell this amp. Your thorough and thoughtful review swayed me. Thanks to Lynn Oliver for patiently holding the amp for me while I accumulated the funds to purchase it. Of course, thanks to Ken Fox for building it and and to b0b and his Forum. stevet |
