Paul: just wanted to say "Bakersfield" is a class-act! Thanks to you and Vince Gill for the excellent work.

Your solo on "Holding Things Together" is incredible.

Great job!!!

Ricky....

All I can say is this it is an awesome piece of work by Paul Franklin and Vince Gill. If you don't have it, get it. You'll be glad you did.

It's a WOW album - great.
My all time favourite though is still Franklin & Mason doing "Above and Beyond". I've had an MP3 of it for years - can't even remember where I got it. Anyone have a link to it or what it was off?

Congratulations to Paul Franklin. It's not everyday that a pedal steel player has co-billing on a Top 40 Album in Rolling Stone. Bakersfield debuted at the number 25 position in the August 29, 2013 issue. Bravo Vince & Paul!

Between keeping trad country alive and paying respect to Buck and Merle, and giving co-billing to Paul, Vince now qualifies in my book as a "True Mensch".

He has a real knack for tastefully singing his lines between the steel parts and not overlapping and obscuring them. That's really an important quality in a vocalist. Wink
