Very nice Gibson ES-330, as far as I can tell it's a very early 1969 model. True hollow w P-90s, trapeze tailpiece, neck joins body at 19th fret. Very nice condition. Some finish checking but no cracks or breaks that I can find, especially at the neck/head joint where some Gibsons like to break. Some slight scuffs on the back and edge of headstock, visible in the pics. Tuners appear to be replacements and one of the witch hat knobs may be a replacement but looks as old as the rest. S/N 540894, no "Made in USA" stamp, no volute on neck. Frets are a little low but play fine. Neck relief looks, plays and stays in tune. Gorgeous mellow sound at low volume, screams when cranked. Body was professionally foam stuffed at time of last service by N.O. Vintage Guitars some years back, helps control feedback. Electronics sound nice and clean, other than normal P-90 single coil hum.
I have been told that the pickups are orig and they sound like nice old P-90s to me. The pots, from what I can see without removing them, look orig as well. If anyone can advise me on how to check the originality of these parts without removing the whole harness, that would be appreciated. The previous owner had this guitar for at least 20 years, and I first played it more than 15 years ago. A great guitar that I wish I could keep, but other things are more pressing at the moment.
Beat up, possibly orig case incl.
$2,500 shipped, insured and paypal-ed in CONUS. Paypal preferred. No trades. Thanks!

Hey Chris, thanks! Just revisited some web info, looks like very early 69, within the first 100 Gibson S/Ns for that year. |

How easy is it to "de-foam" the guitar? _________________ Sierra Crown D-10 8+4, Sierra S-10 3+4, Carter D-10 8+7, Carter Starter 3+ a lot of engineering problems |

Not too hard I would imagine. I spoke w the person that installed the foam and he said its not attached in any way. You may want to pull the pickups and wiring harness just to be super safe, but it's definitely not major surgery. |
