I think the speaker in my Session 400 is about to give up the ghost. I get a "frying" sound on sustained notes. Just spent quite a bit of money on this amp on mod and repair, so I assume it's the speaker and not the amp. Although the reverb has stopped working too. I'll just go back to my RV-3. At any rate, I can't afford to lay out a bunch more dough on this amp right now.

Anybody got an extra Peavey 1501-4 BW laying around not being used they'd be willing to part with for a reasonable price? Looking for the speaker only, don't need a cab. Would prefer chrome voice coil with no dents.

I think I need a 1501... the 1502 is a bass speaker, right? Someone recently commented these speakers were popping up on the forum like weeds, but I can't find any for sale now.

PM or email replies will be fine.

Thanks,
Johnny T.

I believe that your '400's speaker plugs into the chassis using a 1/4" male jack. Before replacing the speaker, I would unplug it and test it using another amp to be certain that is where the problem lies.
