How does one use the GP-100 as a pre-amp only? Is it necessary to choose one of the amp models to use it as a pre-amp without any effects or anything? I have read some previous information and could not find the specific answer as to how. Any advice will be most appreciated. Best Regards. Zeke |

I believe you need to select a preamp type as a minimum, you can turn the effects off. Not exactly sure what you are trying to accomplish. The GP100 is a very good preamp and effects box.
Here is a link to the manual:

i am trying to use this as a preamp out only to go to the rest of my rack in a series setup. This unit has a great sound. Some of my other rack effects, such as a peavey eq and my lexicon effects have ladder leds for balance that will not work with my Stereo steel unit. must be the output from the Roland GP100 is stronger out. they all work perfectly when in the effects loop of the roland. just wondered if its possible, and if so, how to use this for the preamp out only without a selected "amp type". i a have not been able to accomplish it this way. best regards and thanks. zeke |
