On vacation in Quebec City, just down the slope from the Citadel near the Chateau Frontenac, I spied a guy playing a double-8 Fender. He was playing real good. He played an old Quebec favorite, La Train du Norde", "the train to the north", amongst other tunes including the old Hank "You're Cheatin' Heart". He was too busy to talk to and so tossed him a buck and took a photo. Anyone else have a photo of a street-corner steeler?

Street performing idiots like silverman and noisy steel drummers can actually make a living here in Hawaii, while good steel guitar can get you just enuf for a cheap lunch. Nobody said life was fair.
Now go back and talk to that guy, Rob, you never know who's under that hat! |

Thanks all you former street performers!
Wonderfull. Haven't seen any others photos of these unheralded, or as Ron points out, a SOMEBODY, hiding under their hat or toupee or perhaps a moustache from their adoring public. Thanks Ron, next time I'll talk, even in my broken Quebecois. (ditto David and you never know, Neil's alter ego eh?) However, one could set one up a photo shoot and we wouldn't know if it was for real....
Nice guitar for sure. Is that a Stringmaster?

Nope... I wish I could...Someday! Palm trees and pineapple. Luaus and laps steels, ukeleles and surf music, Hawaiian hospitality. Good times! Someday soon!

I perform at a number of farmer's markets and other busking sites around Cincinnati, usually on my Dobro but last Monday (Aug.26) I used my Supro Twin (D6). It went over very well although it requires more equipment hauling than the Dobro, and requires access to electricity since I no longer have a working battery powered amp.
