Available only until 9pm Central Time Sunday August 18th

I'd like to offer the Forum members a free PDF download of the entire 16 page historical booklet for The Big E: A Salute to Steel Guitarist Buddy Emmons plus a free download of Doug Jernigan's incredible version of "Buddy's Boogie."

The booklet contains rare historical photos, extensive track-by-track liner notes plus a 6,000 word essay on the life of Buddy Emmons.

The booklet is 24 MB and will take a few minutes to download. Just go here and click through to the free download:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3223nsm1ecpkugx/rdjMAFr7P8

The link will only be active until 9pm CST Sunday evening.

Thank you to Bob and to everyone on the Steel Guitar Forum who helped make this project a reality.

Steve Fishell

p.s. if you feel like it, please find the album's page on Facebook (just search Buddy Emmons) and "like" it. We need to inform the outside world about this worthy project benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame. Thanks.

Thanks for the opportunity to download the liner notes for this highly anticipated release. First "Bakersfield," and now "The Big E." It's been an eventful summer for fans of classic pedal steel guitar. They always say good things come in threes. What will be the next album to complete this trifecta?

I have to say a BIG Thank You to Fish for taking this on & completing this project.

All I can say is WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!

What a great read I just love this part >

" Ry Cooder says, “I have no recollection of the
Longbranch Pennywhistle sessions, except for Buddy warming up
on Charlie Parker at triple speed. That I remember. The humbling
effect of watching him, that sensation is vivid.” Eagles founding
member Bernie Leadon recalls: ”Buddy self-edited. Other players
could be all over the map; they couldn’t edit themselves like
he did. What came out with Buddy was much more of a whole cloth. It was finished and you had the take.

But what Buddy was
playing in between takes—warming up, noodling—that’s what I
would be listening to. It was unbelievable.”

As they say ENOUGH SAID !!!!

I just pre-ordered The Big E Salute CD from Amazon. Also ordered the Vince G. - Paul F. Bakersfield CD. and to the Supersaver free shipping from Amazon.com, I ordered the Lyle Lovett "Release Me" CD released in 2012 with the GREAT BUCK REID and PAUL FRANKLIN on it. I continue to learn...so when you purchase CDs on Amazon, the moment they are ordered, you can download the MP3 versions of these albums to the Amazon Cloud player free to your computer. Amazon provides the cloud player to download free. Love this technology. If only there was a way to download the steel players' talent on these albums into my DNA, brain and fingers, now that would be something!

Fish,

Great liner notes, you should win a Grammy for them in that category.

Loved reading up the the early history on the Big E. Glad I got to meet him when he was touring with the Everlys.

Got my Cd reserved. at Barnes and Noble. waiting for the call from them tomorrow.

Again, Bravo on a job well done!
