I'm looking for a hard shell case for a Rickenbacker B6 lap steel. I read somewhere (perhaps here) that the Gold Tone lap steel case is a good fit. Before I go to the trouble of actually buying one, can anyone verify whether or not this is the case (no pun intended)?
Alternatively, can anyone provide the inside measurements of the Gold Tone lap steel case? The Gold Tone website doesn't list inside dimensions of the case.
Thanks in advance! _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

I'm headed out of town for the weekend, but if you don't have an answer by Monday I can measure my Gold Tone case for you then. |

Thanks for your offer, Bill. I'd appreciate it.
I'm currently using a TKL lap steel bag, which is very good, but I want something with a bit more protection. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

You might want to check and see if the B6 fits in this case:

Thanks for the suggestion, Michael. Unfortunately I've verified this previously and have posted several times that the Rondo SX case is designed specifically for their lap steels and will not fit any other brand of lap steel.
That SX case is far too narrow for the Rickenbacker B6. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

I finally found a case for my Rickenbacher B6. Saw a mention about using a baritone ukulele case. I bought this tweed baritone uke case on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221318070291?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
The only thing I did have to do was cut out the storage compartment under the neck. The case is deeper than needed so putting a towel in there solved that problem.
Hope this helps somebody else that has one without a case. Will try to attach a picture soon. _________________ Michael Brebes

I ended up getting a replacement case from James Williamson, who had a spare.
I think that Epiphone case looks like it would be too shallow to fit a B6, but that's a good idea. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Is a Rickenbacher Model 59 the same size as a B6? |

I use SKB viola case. It is sturdy, light and fits perfectly.
A minor modification is needed. You can cut a bit of inner foam at the head compartment.
