Daddy was sitting at his desk and called to mom saying he wanted some water and she came into the office and found him sliding down in his chair and we gave meds and he came back to us and we rolled his office chair to the porch for the EMT's to help him. He talked to us and wanted to just lay on the couch but we got him to the porch just before the EMT's arrived. They worked on him in the Van and then took him to the hospital on the way he had another heart attack but when he got to the hospital he had a the big one and did not recover.
Before going he wanted his new slippers for he did not want the ones on he had gone outside with. |

What a sweet man and great friend Ernie was to us. I would always tell him that I needed my Ernie-Nan-Belinda fix. Got my last email from him on Aug. 18, just saying he was thinking of us. My heart breaks for Nan and Belinda; we pray for God's comfort at this sorrowful time.
We appreciate Ernie and Nan's many years of GaSGA support. Here's a picture of Ernie taken a few years back in Saluda. Rest in Peace, Dear Ernie.....

So sorry to hear this. I didn't know Ernest personally but I did buy one of his amp stands from the steel guitar forum and he included 2 home made CDs at no charge and quite a nice surprise. Charlie Pride at Panther Hall and some obscure Don Helms recordings. That was a very nice thing for him to do for me and I will remember it always. I am sure he was an awesome man! I always looked forward to his music postings here and on Face Book. He had great taste! A well loved member of our Forum. I am shocked and saddened. Such a great man. I loved talking to him on the phone. I bought a beautiful Sho-Bud Pro II from him and from now on, I will always think about Ernie when I play it. R.I.P. Ernie. |

I just saw this.
We all have lost a great friend.
He was one of the early members of our Florida Steel Club and everyone enjoyed his playing and friendship.
He loved everyone and everyone loved him.
We had some great times together sharing a room in Dallas and traveling together those two years.
I loved his stories about Hank SR. and the old days of country music. I'll cherish those memories the rest of my life.
Peace to you ole buddy.
