| I've had two guitars now that have had slight feedback on my 112. Played both through other amps and never had any problem. The feedback is short and only on 3 & 4, but enough to annoy and sting the ear a little. Pregain 3, master 6, low 8, mid -4, shift 800, high 2, presence 4. Any ideas? Thanks and Happy early 4th to ya. |

Well, first, I'm assuming that both guitars are Mullen's(based on Your avatar...please let Me know if otherwise)so...first question: what type of Pup's do You have on the guitar?, depending on the type of pu's(I.E HB or SC's)can pose a problem as to feedback...due to their variance in kO output Etc.
What I would try is drop Your Pre, Pres and Master back maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 a number...just My two cents, hope it helps  ,

Just got a new G2 (which is SWEET) and had a stage one before that, also a great axe. G2's got BL705s and the stage one had a telonics type 34pw. Both humbuckers, but feedback is almost identical between the two guitars, which makes me think it's the 112. Have tried with and without my black box and still get feedback. Again, it's slight, but enough to annoy, especially since I can't seem to figure out how to stop it. |

I check out that NV112 for something loose that is being vibrated by those notes since it does it with both guitars. Maybe a loose speaker mounting screw, a piece of trim on the amp, loose screw in the top vent, something along that type of idea.

My Roland 80XL has a similar problem, I called it an overtone, a very high pich, ringing like sound that is very piercing.
I first thought it was the amp until I got my Rains SD10, when played thru the Roland I do not hear that sound.
Hence my non-scientific deduction. Combination of the GFI pup and the Roland the problem. BTW both of my GFI's couple to the Roland made the same sound.

| Which input are you plugging into on the '112'? If you are using the 'High Gain' input, try patching into the other jack, the pickups may be too hot and overdriving the amp slightly. |

Thanks everybody. I'm using the high gain input, but have had the same problem on the low, just a little less so. Maybe I outta stick with it.
Chuck, you're right. I said feedback, but a quick, ringing, piercing overtone is exactly what it is.
I still think its gotta be the amp tho. I've both play guitars through several amps and never once heard it. Still stumped... |

Chris , I have a 112 I that had a really piercing sound on the 4th string , E 9th . I neve noticed it on my G# , 3rd string . I tried it with both of my Show Pros . Same result . One has a BL 710 pup and the other has a Sho Bud pup in it .
I ordered the chip upgrade from Ken Fox and I don't notice it anymore . Only effects I use with this one is a Wampler Faux Analog Delay , which is by far the best delay pedal I've ever owned .

I just had the same problem. I changed out the 4th (E) string and it went away.

I had a very similar problem with my Pro II with original Sho-Bud P/U's. Try backing off the treble and the presence until it goes away, and see if you can still get the tone you want. Also, turn off any reverb and see if that has an effect.
Recently I went to .012 G# string, and may also try a .015 on the E.
