Here is my six-string 'Cigtar' cigar box lap steel with installed pickup. A friend of mine in southern Colrado made this for me from my specs. The neck is maple and goes through body so it holds most all of tension. The box is paper covered wood -NOT cardboard. My friend likes the Macanudo boxes, because thay give a mild and mellow sound. No frills, and it plays very nicely. Banjo sounding slide guitar unplugged, but it can be a mellow lap steel or a screaming beast when plugged in .

Notice the brand name is "Stovewood".

Thanx,
Jim

Did it come with part of a socket set for a tone bar?
They usually do.

It all goes to show what I've been saying for years, that a lap steel is just a plank with strings stretched across it and an electric pick-up. The rest is just artwork.
