I have some of Mike Auldridge's old gear including a couple of Profex II's.

#1 Looks like it has the batteryless mod and boots. Have not put a signal through yet but I see all the Newman presets.

#2 Indicates "DSP System Error". I see a battery pack on the pcb. Does this error usually indicate a battery problem. I measure about .5V across the pack.

fwiw..The Auldridge family will put some gear up for sale so, stand by.

tnx

#2's battery is probably dead. It should read about 3 volts DC across the battery leads. If you don't see any blue/green goo in the vicinity, then it hasn't leaked yet.

I advise contacting Ken Fox for a Batteryless Mod real soon. If that battery hasn't leaked yet, it soon will.

And while your at it, you might order the OPA2134 chip set for it. It'll greatly improve the sound quality.

That is all correct. The low voltage on the battery has rewritten or basically scrambled the settings. You can do a reinitialization and it should reset to factory settings and work. It will attempt to recharge the battery while on and then hold those settings. If dead and not rechargable it will lose memory after each power off sequence.
