Our entire core system at our church is Behringer:
3 EP1500 amps
3 FBQ1502 EQs
1 3242FX-PRO mixer
Be in since 2003 and 0 problems.
One great big tip... use the UltraMizer effect on the board for the mains. The clarity is awesome!
The amps feed as follows:
1 amp feeds channel a to mains, channel b to monitors (2 floors, one overhead choir, and 4 hotspots).
1 amp feeds left and right to left wing.
1 amp feeds left and right to right wing.
See, we are a balanced church... we have left wingers, right wingers, and some just right down the middle!
Give me a yell if you need some more info!

I have mixed on all of the brands you listed, Behringer mixers will get the job done, but it is 'price point' gear. The pre's in the Allen & Heath boards are far superior in my opinion. Mackie has a great track record, but some of their lower-end mixers also lack in the pre-amp department. |

I just replaced an old mackie with a small soundcraft 8 channel board (EFX8). Could hear quite a difference. Soundcraft makes some really nice, well-built stuff. Great preamps, even on the smaller boards. |

In my experience, Behringer gear is usually OK as long as you don't move it around too much. They take a lot of their electronic design cues from successful manufacturers, but where they fall down is in the execution of the packaging. If you are looking for a board that will be used traveling, then I'd pony up for a better brand.
I'm a fan of Sound Craft also, I currently use an MFXI 12 in my club rig, most of the sound guys that I know tend to prefer the Allen & Heath mixwizards for simple live production. _________________ Mostly junque with a few knick-knacks that I really can't do without! |

I also had a Behringer system when our quartet traveled and sang. It was mounted in a rolling mixer rack. Ran it for 5 years or so, and sold all of it to a church when we had to stop travelling. Still going strong at the church.
That mixer was a EURORACK UB1832FX-PRO and had a Behringer amp with it. The speakers were the "Dawn" system that was sold by Gibson. It was a floor sub woofer with two small mid / high range satellite speakers mounted on small stands.

best deal for the money IMHO right now is the Presonus line. Unbelievable flexability. All digital with Analog feel to it.
Nicest thing about it. One firewire cable to your computer and you can record multitrack whatever you are mixing. _________________ Mark T

Gary, I have a Yamaha MG24/14fx in my small studio in my basement and it works great. Not something you'd want to cart around but it's rock solid and very reliable.
Decently priced at around $1100 Canadian.
As far as Behringer, I have heard they are almost impossible to get repaired and are coupled with a poor warranty - that is what I was told from a few people that are in that field.
Having said that, on the advice of a very knowledgeable recording engineer (on this board), they do make a great reference amp which I use with KRK reference speakers.
Here's a pic below of the Yamaha MG24/14fx:

Played in a band for a while that had a big Behringer board. Moved it from gig to gig all the time with no problems, Sounded good too. They are still using it to this day.
But, depending on the price difference to the others you listed, if they are close, I might choose the others over the Behringer. But people usually by Behringer stuff because it is a lot less expensive. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Good stuff, but the original post didn't mention that he was looking for a mixer for recording. If so, Presonus is good stuff. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Richard,
Since the majority of Presonus is used for FOH, that was where I was headed. The recording was just a plus.

Really. I have never seen their stuff for FOH systems. Would be great stuff though. When I had my home studio, I used Presonus stuff. Great products. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
