Selling this nifty Electar lap steel that I modified a bit. Original aluminum nut (included) was kind of messed up so I made a nice bone nut for it. Original pickup had been re-wound and is included, works fine, but I replaced it with a Pete Biltoft Vintage Vibe CC-Rider Charlie Christian model (tried several of his magnets in it but can't recall which one I ended up with, most likely AlNiCo III). Made a nice adjustable mounting bracket for it without otherwise changing the guitar. Removed funky original three pots (included) and replaced with them with high quality CTS volume and tone controls, with a Mallory cap. Plugged the third pothole with a snap-in black plastic hole plug. Came without knobs so I put a couple black Dakaware pointer knobs on it that really help you see where they're set. Had a hodge-podge of tuners on it so I installed Grover Sta-Tite butterbean reissues. Made sure nothing was done that would prevent the guitar from being put back to stock if desired. But why would you, because it plays and sounds great now. Original tweed case in pretty nice shape included. Crazy amount of work on this guy, but I'm not playing it these days so time to move 'er on. $475 or best offer.

Oh man, I think audio samples of my steel playing these days would drive customers out the door! But I'll see if I can rustle somethin' up. Thanks. |

Still available. Would rather sell here for less than take a beating on eBay. Hit me up. |
