I agreed to join a friends Hawaiian band. Shocked

They play parties and local bars I guess. First gig in a month. Only problem? I dont know anything about hawaiian music.

Heres the song list:
Sophisticated Hula: (F)
Hukilau (F)
Hanalei Moon (C)
Pearly Shells (D)
Little Grass Shack/Little Brown Gal Medely (F)
Song of Old Hawaii (C)
Lovely Hula Hands (G)
Beyond the Reef (C)
My Yellow Ginger Lei (B flat)
Lepe Ula Ula (F)

I will keep my questions simple and to the point.
-tuning? Am I correct that c6th would be most appropriate?
-any tab for the above would be nice.
-volume pedal or no?

for reference my steel experience is pedal steel E9th country and rock, some small amount of dobro open G, and open D lap mostly blues/rock. I have ZERO experience with C6th.

I plan to woodshed on my lunch hour and listen to lots of Jerry Byrd. Very Happy I just dont want to let my friends dwon or embarass them (or myself)

Thanks for the help and comments.

C6th will work just fine for those numbers, and you will find a lot of material available for that tuning. Its a good choice. Personally speaking, I don't like playing in the key of the tuning.
