| Tracy Byrd, Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Lawrence, Zona Jones, and others will be at Ford Park Beaumont Texas on labor day. I'm sure they'll have some great steel players with them. Jody Cameron will you be there with Zona??? |

Hi Doug - yep, I'll be there! In fact, I will be playing steel behind all the artists that day...they are all using the same band. Each artist will be featured individually on their respective hits, then we will do an "in the round" type thing where they will each pick some standard tunes and all sing a few. Chessnut is supposed to do an acoustic set as well.
In addition to that - from what I understand - there will be a couple of rock bands opening the show, and the Dallas Cowboy and Houston Texans cheerleaders will be there  as well as a few players from each team. There will also be a carnival fair for the kiddos.
Should be fun...hope to see ya there!

If you get worn out playing I'll cover for you for a song or 2 if you want me to, That sounds like a good deal for the weekend, I may have to show up for that one.

Good one, Lee! Colby, it is Labor day weekend...the Sunday before Labor day (I believe).
I don't know how many guests I'm allowed to have, but if anybody would like to come for sure let me know by email and I will try and arrange some backstage passes...

Jody Cameron and the West Swing band did a fantastic job Sunday at the Labor Day party in Beaumont Texas. They started with their boss Zona Jones and played for the longest set I have ever listened to. They played for Zona Jones, then Tracy Byrd, then Tracy Lawrence, and then all of them together for over four hours + of continuous music.
I could have not gone that long without a bathroom break if I had to.
Jody would have made all of the Steelers out there proud. Thanks Jody for the heads up so I could go listen.

Tom, I'm glad you enjoyed it my friend. We had a great time playing. FWIW, I did not attend the Chessnut party afterwards that you inquired about...I was too beat, had to go to bed, haha!
