Paris Texas that is, my lovely bride and I have been invited by my good friend Corky Owens to the Paris Texas Fair, where Gene Watson and the Fairwell Party band will be performing tonight, Friday and Saturday I believe.

This is a homecoming for Gene because Paris Texas is his hometown, so anyone that is within driving range of Paris (on the NE Texas, Oklahoma border) should try and make it. Gene and the band put on a heck of a show, and Gene sounds as good if not better, than he ever has.

Paris, TX is where I am from.. The Sat Nite Jamboree in the 50's had some great pickers. Glad to see Country Music is alive and well in Lamar county...boy those were the days..
