The Rev is a super tube preamp, but it takes a lot of knowledge of it's tone stack and complexity of ALL of the control knobs.

The input volume control actually changes the tone, depending on where you set it. Clockwise is warmer.

Start the journey with the color knob at 12:00 and us it LAST to adjust the mid tone (counter clockwise brighter/clockwise softer.

The treble also changes the mid frequency (hz) while the mid knob adjusts the dip of that frequency.

Bass control adds the bottom frequency.

The Vari controls overall lows and highs. I set mine around 2:00, then start working with the rest of it.

If it sounds confusing, it is. However, once you find the sequence of adjustments, it dials in whatever you're looking for with the growl and warmth of the tubes into any transistor power amp.
