Gene Watson and the Fairwell Party band, had a great show at the Paris, Texas Fair. Corky Owens shined as always, and his Rains Steel Guitar sounded almost to good to be true (this was an outside ampitheatre)
his sound was crystal clear, and all who attended had a great time.

Paris Texas is Gene's hometown, and his performance was one of the best I have seen him perfom. Corky says, Gene seems relaxed and more at ease when he's playing in front of family and friends. Gene's sister even got up and sang a gospel duet with Gene.

I also got to meet another fine steel player who was in attendance. Tim Woods, who also is a former Gene Watson Steel Player, Tim is a really nice guy, and his love of the steel guitar was evident in our conversation, although I have never heard Tim play, Corky assures me, Tim is a top notch steel pro, and can play the fire out of his Franklin Steel. Tim is was great meeting you buddy, and for all those who missed Gene's amazing singing, ya'll missed one of the best REAL country singers that are keeping it REAL country.

I have Gene Watson's gospel album and it is great. He has a couple of his sisters singing with him on this one.
