Played on a Manzanita Kona-Style Guitar:

Very nice, Peter. Gino deserves to be better remembered. I did an article for Fretboard Journal about him a few years back.

Andy, this is interesting! Is there a possibility to get a (digital?) copy of it?
Greetings, Peter |

Last year this plaque was erected at the home in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue in Provence where Gino retired to. The design used the artwork for the cd we put out "Gino Bordin-Virtuose de la guitare hawaïenne" which includes Gino's version of "Serenade Bleue" the tune Peter posted here

Wow! Les, do you know the exact address of Gino's last home?
By chance, I will be in Provence (Gordes) next week for holidays and it would be funny to have a look at the plaque in real ... |

It's easy to find, Peter ...and in Gordes you're pretty close . The plaque is on the wall of the Grand Café de la Sorgue situated on the corner of Avenue de la République and Quai Jean Jaures. The café is owned by Gino's nephew ...a nice place to visit. |

... et voilá:
Wonderful holidays: After one week in the Provence, our family (wife, two sons, girlfriend of one of them, me) went hiking for another week in the Alps of southern France (with two donkeys carrying our luggage!), spent some days at the sea just south of Marseille and last but not least visited a Bluegrass Festival near Grenoble ...
Back to work this morning |
