Jody, I remember that post, great writing. I must say I miss your "long posts". Your stories and observations are always welcome.
I got to visit the factory in Fullerton many years ago when we were on a west coast tour. Leon Boulanger our fiddle player at the time, rest his soul, had some friends there. and we were treated to a tour of the factory. What a treat to see the Tele bodies cut and the guitar assembled. The sales rep who I met out there was named Bill, and old age keeps me from remembering his last name. But shortly after that meeting Bill moved to Nashville as the Fender rep. Oh I forgot to mention I was Faron Youngs lead player at the time. So while I don't play steel I have been fortunate to work with many great player in my 30 yr career. I must say one thing about steel players, THEY SURE GOT TO BE STRONG TO CARRY THAT INSTRUMENT
It is great to see you posting again and I look forward to more.
Richard

I miss starting out the morning with one of your stories, Jody. I'm down to re-reading them because there aren't enough.
Steel guitar history is hard to come by for a newcomer. Gives another kind of life to the instrument.

Moved to Steel Players because I suspect that's what's this is about.

I'm not sure, I don't have time to read it all, including the 4 year old thread, to solve that riddle.

It doesn't fit the description of E&A:

"Events and Announcements"
Steel guitar shows, upcoming gigs,
new CD releases, steel news, etc
