I know I'll hate myself in the morning, but I'm not playing this one and need to get honest with my Visa card. It's a glorious sounding and playing 1959 Fender Deluxe 8 steel. All original condition, everything present (including thumbwheel under bridge cover) and in working order. Legs snug up wherever you set them. Has been played over the years—has nicks, chips, and small dings, and really nice yellowing of the lacquer—but in very straight, unmolested condition. A true classic. $1,100

(sorry for my lame offer from a broke single dad of 3 year old girl)

This is the best vintage of Fender, me thinks. The brown transition cases from tweed to black. Just love these. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

That is correct Tom. As soon as the cases went to black; the steels were then made out of regular Ash wood and not the "Swamp Ash" they used in the '50's HUGE DIFFERENCE in tone to my ears.

Didn't you tell me when I sold that Deluxe to you that you'd give me a head's-up if you ever decided to sell it??? _________________ Fender Deluxe 6, Supro Supreme, Pogreba Weissenborn |

Chris, I can understand if you're ticked off - I'd be. _________________ --carl

I don't appreciate a discussion like this in a public forum, especially from people who have nothing to do with the matter in question, but I guess I'd better respond.
Chris, I believe the answer to your question is no. I have no such recollection. If I did I would have contacted you. I don't think we communicated about this guitar other than by private message here on SGF and via email in September of 2010. In looking back through all my correspondence with you I see nothing about giving you a heads-up before selling this guitar.
In any event, prior to Chris' post I accepted an offer and am awaiting arrival of funds. So a sale is pending. |

The funds are on the way Doug
I found the last comments quite strange, almost direspectful.
Anyway, this guitar will spend some time in Texas with my friend Ricky, who deserves this guitar more than I do. One day it will find it's way to Norway.
Best regards
