In the past couple of months, I've been finding sheet music online for songs that I like. It's usually written for piano. I've been trying to create pedal steel arrangements for passages in those songs and it's really opened a new door for me with the instrument. One thing in particular is deciding which strings to let ring and which ones to block right away. When you're staying on the same fret, it's pretty simple. But sometimes when you're moving the bar, letting the chromatic strings ring can create some really novel and stimulating dyads/triads. Some of sweetest sounds are slightly dissonant. It's really making me improve my blocking technique too.

Hi Curt - Sounds like you're taking the notes right off the written page and making them your own. Smile
